Accessibility

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Where it falls short, that is a defect and will be fixed.

What is built in

• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background, in both the light and the dark theme.
• Real buttons, links and form controls, so the keyboard and screen readers behave as expected.
• Every control reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• A skip link to the main story as the first element on every page.
• Icons labelled for screen readers; decorative shapes hidden from them.
• Animation suppressed for readers who ask their system for reduced motion.
• Text that reflows to a single column on a narrow screen without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

• Images in briefs are placeholders; where a real photograph is added it must carry alternative text.
• The market figures update without announcing themselves to a screen reader.
• This site has not yet been audited by an external accessibility specialist.
